Dr. Eamonn Maher is heading an effort in the UK to identify new genetic causes of inherited kidney cancer. He is interested in working with groups and families in any country where there are multiple relatives with kidney cancer, but no genetic cause has yet been identified. They are also interested in cases where an individual has multiple kidney tumours at a young age (under 40 years) and no known genetic cause.
His lab will test blood samples from people referred to them without charge. If you have a case that you feel would be interesting to his research, please send him a brief summary in English of the patient’s situation and any relatives with kidney cancer, and discuss how best to proceed.
Dr. Maher is the Head of the Department of Medical Genetics at the School of Clinical Medicine at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England, UK. Write to: erm1000@medschl.cam.ac.uk
