IKCC hosted its first Roundtable on Kidney Cancer with the European Union Parliament in Brussels, Belgium in November 2022. During the event, policy makers, patients and clinicians came together to highlight the need to address EU funding for kidney cancer research, which is currently not in line with the incidence or burden of the disease.
The day of education and engagement kicked off with a welcome from event sponsor and Member of European Parliament, Nicolás Casares. He reviewed the current state of kidney cancer in Europe – where cases are on the rise and have been increasing for several decades.
