During the annual meeting of the Spanish Federation against kidney diseases (ALCER) informative presentations on various diseases affecting the kidney were offered. Among them was the presentation by Dr. Alvaro Montesa (Oncologist, University Hospital “Virgen de la Victoria” in Malaga, Spain) on the incidence of kidney cancer in Spain, surgical options and new treatments for metastatic cancer.
The meeting took place at the University Hospital “October 12” in Madrid and was attended by kidney cancer patients in Spain. The presentation by Dr. Montesa aroused much interest and the audience had many questions about it.
The meeting of the Spanish kidney cancer survivors was led by Luis Garcia, kidney cancer survivor, who is active in running this self-help program. He shared with the group that ALCER has affiliated with the International Kidney Cancer Coalition, and the group agreed.
