New for 2021 – Build Connection, Affiliate Participation
This year, the primary focus of the global conference will be grounded in connection. In a time when being together still isn’t quite possible, we want to put every effort into building, maintaining and strengthening the connection throughout the global kidney cancer community.
We will focus on learning from each other, sharing our successes and challenges and helping to build capacity across the network together. In many ways, this takes us back to IKCC’s beginnings and will help us focus on what’s been our unwavering goal as a Coalition – to reduce the burden of kidney cancer worldwide.
Affiliate Organisations will be asked to share experiences from their region and present on a variety of topics, including but not limited to:
- Patient support program successes and challenges:
- Strengthening patient support programs to cope with diagnosis
- Ways to supporting carers
- Reaching and engaging new patients and carers
- Learning to effectively listen
- Stories of survivorship
- Working with healthcare professionals
- Fundraising success and challenges
- Organisational successes, challenges, key initiatives and best practices
- Patient groups emerging from the pandemic
The conference will also include some of the standard sessions we’ve come to expect including Highlights from ESMO, IKCC’s Annual General Meeting (for Affiliates only) and a group photo.
Pre-conference Package
Every registered participant will receive a mailed pre-conference package to help get ready for the two-day virtual event. The package will include:
