The IKCC Board of Directors has announced Mr. Olivier Exertier from France has been appointed and has accepted the role of Executive Director of IKCC effective January 2025. Mr. Exertier will provide visionary leadership in collaboration with the Board and will ensure IKCC’s mission and strategic objectives are achieved.

Olivier brings a wealth of national and global public health experience to the role, with a strong focus on cancer. Most recently, he worked for the Director’s Office of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization. Before that, he gained a diverse range of experience providing strategic and organisational support to hospitals, cancer centres and medical foundations. He also held the position of Secretary General at Cancéropôle CLARA, a foundation which focuses on research and innovation in France’s second largest region.

This year the IKCC Board took on the task of engaging the right person to guide the organisation into the future and focus on fostering a positive, inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and excellence. After an exhaustive global search, the Board is thrilled with the appointment of Olivier and confident his leadership will take IKCC forward to the next level as a global coalition of patient organisations.
