Margaret (Margie) Hickey, RN, MS, MSN

Board Member, United States

With over 40 years of dedicated service to oncology patients, Margaret (Margie) Hickey brings invaluable expertise to the IKCC Board. A seasoned leader in nursing, patient engagement and healthcare communications, Margie has made significant contributions to advancing cancer care through leadership and advocacy.

In addition to clinical nursing roles, Margie served as President and Executive Director of a national nursing society and worked as a Global Patient Advocate Lead in a global pharmaceutical division, partnering with IKCC and other global coalitions to promote cancer awareness and treatment advancements. Margie was also instrumental in co-leading initiatives that integrated patient input at every stage of clinical trials, influencing best practices across major pharmaceutical divisions.

The loss of a close friend and mentor to kidney cancer, along with knowing the struggles of others close to them, has fuelled Margie’s resolve to make meaningful contributions in kidney cancer care. Serving on the IKCC Board offers Margie an opportunity to continue advocating to improve the lives of people affected by kidney cancer on a global scale.
