Patient Support meeting, Bogota

Patient Support meeting, Bogota

by Juanita Ruiz, Colombia

Throughout the first semester of 2016 Fundación SIMMON has held three cancer patients’ meetings part of its “ASSIST” program. The program’s objective is to contribute to a better quality of life for cancer patients, relatives and caregivers by providing education and leisure opportunities in meetings where they can ask their questions to experts in medicine, nutrition psychology and law and participate in workshops and activities involving physical activity and emotional empowerment.

So far in 2016 nearly 800 patients in Bogotá have taken part in our celebration of the International Cancer Day in February, and our first and second patient meetings of the year.

Fundación SIMMON also turned five years old in May.  To celebrate this milestone with our members and friends we had a 70’s-themed concert on May 3 in which 200 friends joined us to help SIMMON ¡Stay alive!
